Ozark’s Water Department pumps nearly 840 million gallons of water each year. The Utilities Board works each day for the people of Ozark to have quality water. Their efforts have been rewarded by winning the “Best Operated Plant Award” for the state of Alabama.

This is the 9th time since 2000 the Board has won the award and second time they have won it three years in a row. The water plants are judged on chemical handling, pumping equipment, water quality performance, records and test equipment, safety, and operator qualifications. “It’s a vital part of Ozark for the customers to know that I can turn on the faucet and receive a quality product,” says Ozark Utilities, Grade II Water Treatment Plant Operator Dillon Johnson. Ozark’s waste treatment plant also received an “Award of Excellence” for their work in waste treatment.
